How?
Circle Songs - a spontaneously improvised choir singing led by Zeyla Tomlyn and her special signature afro-, funk- and gospel grooves,
Vocal Improv, movement, free Dance, meditation, voice magic…
AND we are going to write our own songs and even RECORD ONE OF THEM!
The grand plan would be to include it on my coming album. Let’s see it we can make it!

Why are we doing this?
Because singing and dancing frees the soul, baby!
With Whom?
Zeyla Tomlyn, your humble guide, a human in love with the funk, gospel and African grooves.
She grew up dancing to all the great music of these genres,
singing in multiple bands, ensembles, and groups, from funk to reggae, classical, Drum n’ Bass, and everything in between.
Zeyla learned the Circle Singing technique from Bobby McFerrin (Don’t Worry, Be Happy) - the inventor of the technique himself, and Roger Treece - one of Bobby’s closest collaborators through time.
Bobby McFerrin called Zeyla a SONG CATCHER, after she surprised the whole crowd at Bobby’s Circle Song School 2023 with a soul-healing gospel song that came to her that morning.
Special guest
Lucian Contiu will join us on the arican drums to keep the groove going throughout our reteat. OH YEAH!!
He’s a percussionist, educator, and founder of School of Drums and Hearts, creator of Human Arts Fest, and organizer of Ecstatic Dance Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
For over 11 years, he has explored the world of African drums and music, sharing his experience for the past 6 years through courses, drum circles, events, and ceremonies.
He creates safe spaces for connection, authentic expression, creativity, joy, and reconnecting with oneself.
But what is Circle Singing?
A guided spontaneously improvised singing where a leader assigns different vocal parts to sub-groups of the circle. Simply said - it’s a human loop station. It allows us to create AMAZING tribe songs right there, on the spot.
